Our Story

We exist to impact lives…

Hunger made war against me at a very tender age. I lost my father to an unexplained death when I was six months old. I was in the then Biafra as a house servant to one Mr. Joe Ezekwugo of Umudioka [ a very good man] when war broke out between Nigeria and Biafra, formerly known as Eastern Nigeria. Besides bullets flying everywhere, hunger was a constant threat to our lives. There were some days when nothing to eat. We had to go to bed with an empty stomach. I was so lean, I thought I was going to die before the war came to an end. My survival was purely the work of our Almighty God whom my immense appreciation goes to every second of my life. War is unnecessary evil. It’s a destructive element we must not allow to germinate. There was a common disease then called qwashiokor. Kwashiokor, according to dictionary ” it’s a type of malnutrition characterized by severe protein deficiency. “It causes fluid retention and a swollen abdomen, legs, and at times, hands. Scarcity of food was rampant in all communities. Hardly you find a home without this deadly disease. People looked like war prisoners. The war lasted for 3 years. Ever since then the conviction to help poverty stricken individuals remained in the crevices of my heart. For years, I have been helping the poor out of my pocket both here in America and abroad. The thought to seek donations from would-be donors cropped up a couple of years ago, 2023. Hence, Caring For The Poor. It makes me happy to put smile in people’s faces. Besides, I feel that I am modeling after our Lord Jesus, who, out of compassion, fed the multitude according to the word of God. James 1:29 supports attitude of love towards the needy, especially the widows and widowers—a service God referred to as “Pure religion and undefiled. “
